Job Title: Vendor Development Manager
Reports to: Plant Manager
Job Summary:
The Vendor Development Manager is responsible for identifying, developing, and managing vendors to ensure a reliable, high-quality, and cost-effective supply chain for the manufacturing organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Vendor Identification:
– Research and identify potential vendors.
– Evaluate vendor capabilities, quality, and reliability.
- Vendor Development:
– Develop and implement vendor development plans.
– Collaborate with vendors to improve quality, delivery, and cost performance.
- Relationship Management:
– Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors.
– Ensure effective communication and issue resolution.
- Performance Management:
– Monitor and evaluate vendor performance.
– Implement corrective actions to address performance issues.
- Cost Management:
– Negotiate prices, terms, and conditions with vendors.
– Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
- Quality Management:
– Ensure vendors meet quality standards and requirements.
– Collaborate with quality teams to address quality issues.
- Risk Management:
– Identify and mitigate risks associated with vendor relationships.
– Develop contingency plans to ensure supply chain continuity.
Requirements:
– 7+ years of experience in vendor development, procurement, or supply chain management.
– Strong knowledge of vendor development principles, procurement processes, and supply chain management.
– Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
– Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
– Proficiency in procurement software and tools (e.g., ERP, SRM, etc.).
Education:
– Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Certifications:
– Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) certification.
– Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) certification.
