Job Title: Design Engineer
Reports to: Design Engineering Manager
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer to join our Design Engineering team in our manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing new products, processes, and equipment, as well as improving existing ones.
Key Responsibilities:
– Design and develop new products, processes, and equipment, ensuring they meet customer requirements, industry standards, and company quality expectations
– Create and maintain detailed design documentation, including CAD models, drawings, and specifications
– Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., manufacturing, quality, sales) to ensure design feasibility and alignment with business objectives
– Conduct design reviews and ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies
– Develop and implement design changes to improve product performance, quality, and manufacturability
– Troubleshoot design-related issues and implement corrective actions
– Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve design processes and outcomes
– Mentor and guide junior design engineers and drafters
Requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
– 3+ years of experience in design engineering, preferably in the manufacturing industry
– Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor) and design tools
– Strong understanding of design principles, manufacturing processes, and industry standards
– Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills
– Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with various stakeholders
– Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles
Preferred Qualifications:
– Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field
– Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) software
– Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
– Six Sigma certification or equivalent
