Job Title: Production Manager, Welding Shop
Reports to: Plant Manager
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Production Manager, Welding Shop to lead our welding operations in our manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the welding process, ensuring high-quality products, and meeting production targets.
Key Responsibilities:
– Manage and supervise the welding team, providing guidance and training to ensure high-quality welds
– Oversee the welding process, including planning, scheduling, and quality control
– Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance quality
– Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies
– Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., production, quality, engineering) to resolve issues and improve processes
– Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics for the welding department
– Identify and address equipment maintenance and repair needs to minimize downtime
– Implement and maintain a safe working environment, adhering to safety protocols and regulations
– Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve welding processes
Requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., welding engineering, mechanical engineering)
– 15+ years of experience in welding or a related field, preferably in the manufacturing industry
– Proven leadership and management skills, with experience leading a team
– Strong understanding of welding processes, materials, and equipment
– Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills
– Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
– AWS (American Welding Society) certification or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
– Master’s degree in a relevant field
– Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
– Knowledge of quality control principles and ISO 9001 standards
– Familiarity with environmental regulations and safety protocols
